Fix my file
What did the printer say?
Find the message you got. Each page explains what it means in plain words, how to fix it yourself, and what it costs to have us fix it: from $25 a file, usually the same day.
There’s no bleed.
Bleed is extra artwork that runs past the edge of the page, usually 0.125 in (3 mm) on every side, so nothing white shows when the printer trims the sheet.$25The file is RGB, it needs to be CMYK.
Screens make colour from red, green and blue light (RGB); printing presses make it from cyan, magenta, yellow and black ink (CMYK).$25The images are low resolution.
Print needs about 300 pixels for every inch of printed size (150 for big posters, less for billboards seen from far away).$25Your logo is blurry.
A logo saved as a JPEG or PNG is made of pixels, so it goes soft or blocky when it’s printed bigger than it was made.$45Fonts aren’t embedded, please outline them.
The printer doesn’t have your fonts, so without them the text would print in a substitute font, or not at all.$25The file is the wrong size.
The printer needs the file at the exact finished size (the trim size) plus bleed, and in the same proportions as the product.$25The text is too close to the edge.
Anything important (text, logos, phone numbers) needs to sit at least 0.125 in (3 mm) inside the trimmed edge, an area called the safe zone or safe area.$25Your black will print grey (or too much ink).
Plain black ink (C0 M0 Y0 K100) prints as a dark grey on large areas; adding some cyan, magenta and yellow under it makes a deep “rich black”, often C60 M40 Y40 K100.$25The artwork doesn’t fit our dieline.
A dieline is the printer’s template for the cut, fold and glue lines of a label or box.from $75
