What we did

  • Built the file first, bleed, safe area and crop marks on their own labelled layers
  • Set it up CMYK at 300 dpi, with the red specified to hold across flood coverage on both sides
  • Designed the reverse for a blind deboss, so the mark reads by shadow and texture rather than ink
  • Drew the wordmark and sardine-tin illustration to survive being reduced to card size
  • Allowed for the rounded-corner cut so nothing sits where the die will take it
  • Delivered print-ready, and the card was printed

The whole arc in one place: the file with its guides, the artwork specified, and a photograph of the finished card. Business cards are the highest-volume product in any small shop.
